Teaching Videos - snippets from various recent lessons over the last 12 months
Andrea and ZIVA
video from Andrea's first ride and second ride on a new to her horse

Andrea has been with me for a few years ever since she transitioned from AA H/J life to being a mom, riding off and on as family life allows. she loves a technical challenge but is also a bit timid. Ziva was a sale horse that was very green at the time and had some anxiety issues that made her a very "compact" horse getting overwhelmed with too much input. The videos are from her first ride on her and the second ride where I talked her into cantering which she was a bit afraid of (for no particular reason other than being afraid the horse would bolt - which wasn't Ziva's thing at all).

Jenna and VALENTZIA
videos from Jenna's first ride on a sensitive horse

Jenna is my eternal intermediate beginner student and friend. She is a very busy small animal vet and surgeon with ADHD and a family and this is her therapy, mostly twice a month. I rarely ever have beginner horses but I know what I can put her on and how to make it work. I don't talk too much in her lessons because she gets too busy trying to do everything at once, so we typically have one or two tasks to accomplish in a ride and she gets to concentrate on riding and keeping it simple and enjoyable. Valentzia is a very sensitive but sane PRE mare that I have in training and she can be spooky but is an angel on the longe line.

Taylor and TILLY
Videos from Taylor's rides getting to know her new horse during her 90-day tune-up

Taylor is a client's college age daughter and super successful on the Hunter Equ. circuit. I school their H/J horses weekly and prep them sometimes before the shows. This mare is new to them, well bred but came from neglect and spent 90 days with me for a tune up. She is a new challenge for the girl, being a jumper type and she is learning to actively ride rather than always look pretty. The mare is a bit lazy and has a weak hind end, thus trying to solve every jump with speed and is slowly learning to carry herself better. She does not like an unsteady contact which is why she shakes her head when the reins are getting too busy. They both improved a lot towards the end of her stay. The mare is clinically sound but has a lot of muscle imbalance and residual stiffness to resolve.

Chelsea and BEAU

Chelsea was my working student 10y ago and is a super talented rider. Beau is her little 6y old PRE that she broke to ride herself and made him an eventer. He's not a fan of hard work and can get lazy and bracing on the x-country course, he meanwhile is owned by a kid and is very thankful for the career change...
