Connecting Body, Mind, and Purpose

Marion Wright specializes in giving horses and riders the necessary basics to build a solid foundation for their future. Young horses often have to fit into a tight training schedule and don't get the extra time they need to become well rounded athletes and good citizens. Here your youngster will learn how to behave in and out of an arena, negotiate obstacles, and how to relax on a trail ride. Time is spent on developing a proper contact and acceptance of the bit as well as natural self carriage and rhythm without pushing young horses too fast too soon.

Many students found that they had been missing some essential basics that kept them from advancing in their riding. It is vital to develop a balanced and independent seat in order to enable our horses to be balanced in their movements. Our students will find a relaxed lesson environment with emphasis on seat, efficiency, and harmony with their horses.

About

Originally from Vienna, Austria, Marion Wright has spent her early years competing in show jumping, but eventually found her way into the dressage. Never being able to own a horse herself in her youth, she benefited from having to adjust to a multitude of different horses over the years. From starting German Riding Ponies for sale to riding problem horses she developed her intuition and creativity to approach each horse individually.

After moving to San Diego in 1997 Marion specialized in educating young and green horses of all breeds, following her passion to give young horses the best possible tools to excel in their chosen career.

In 2006 she also had the opportunity of working with a renown trainer of Andalusian stallions, performing Doma Vaquera (spanish dressage) and Alta Escuela (high school).
Over the years Marion worked with several local breeders to prepare mares and foals for inspections and start youngsters and sale horses under saddle with emphasis on creating well rounded amateur horses.

Following her calling Marion gives young and green horses and ponies of all breeds as well as amateur and youth riders the most important basic training that creates a solid foundation on which horse and rider can build and later excel in the higher levels of any discipline. Her positive confidence building approach helps timid and insecure riders (and horses) to find their assertiveness in the saddle and become a team with their equine partners.

Marion earned her USDF Bronze and Silver medals along the way of training her own and clients' horses and has made it her mission to keep the horses happy throughout the journey up the levels while still pursuing her personal FEI goals.

With her recent move in Feb. 2026 to the beautiful North Carolina Equestrian Center in Reidsville, NC she has currently openings for new students and clients and is available for clinics.
