Marion
Wright moved from Austria to San
Diego in 1997. From the day she started riding ponies, Marion
had a special understanding of difficult horses. Unable to own
a horse herself she was leasing many different horses, successfully
competing in jumping shows. When she started working with her
trainer Thomas Netrwal in Austria, she was invited to break and
show German Riding Ponies for sale. One of her specialties had
been difficult horses, from nervous wrecks to flighty mares. In
her hands these horses would turn into relaxed, attentive athletes
that were able to pursue a show career with their riders. After
moving to California, Marion specialized in working with problem
horses; in 1998 she started training and later working with Carol
Peters of San Diego and brought a number of horses along for sale
and show.
In 2006 she also started working with Martin Juarez, who is a
renown trainer of Andalusian stallions, performing Doma Vaquera
(spanish dressage) and high school. Martin Juarez has won several
titles on the Andalusian Breed circuit and was named National
Champion 2007 in Forth Worth, TX.
Following
her calling Marion gives young or green horses of all breeds as
well as amateur and youth riders the important basic training
that creates a solid foundation on which horse and rider can build
and later excel in the higher levels of any discipline.
After spending a year as resident Dressage trainer at River Valley
Ranch in South San Diego, Marion has now moved her training business
to the gorgeous Creek Hollow Ranch in Ramona, CA
Marion also offers to arrange purchasing trips for interested
parties to Austria and Germany.
